An Echo of Love Unwavering

20x20 oil painting, custom frame

This is a portrait of my sister. This piece is an unexpected commission if you will. My sister had been hinting for a painting of her and her horse for a couple of years now, so this past Christmas I finally did it. I was waiting for the right photo and the right time.

Courtney’s love of horses and in particular her first horse Echo struck me. I found it to be some of the most unshakable and genuine love I’d ever seen. Much like the love in our family and the love of our Creator.

The title of this piece “An Echo of Love Unwavering” is a play on the name of her horse as well as a reference to how she loves others and how I love her. This piece is a symbol.

There is another, underlying reason for this title as well. This piece is also a depiction of gifts from God and echoes of his love. I am thankful for close family, I am thankful my sister has achieved the dream of owning a horse, I am thankful for the ability to paint and create and above all else I am thankful for genuine and unwavering Love.

“and now these three remain, faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” - 1 Corinthians 13:13

“her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.” - Proverbs 3:17
